Rolling Thunder Strikes Athens, Georgia DUIs for 2009 Memorial Day Weekend: 38 arrested for DUI
DUI Road Block Report: Athens, GA. To start off the 2009 Memorial Day Weekend the Georgia State Patrol set up roadblocks and arrested 38 people Thursday Night and Friday morning in a record catch of DUIs in Athens-Clarke County Georgia.
Of the 38 Athens DUI arrests, six University of Georgia students were arrested for DUI in Athens. Similar roadblocks have been held on St. Patrick's Day resulting in 63 arrests and on Cinco de Mayo resulting in five DUI arrests.
Word on the street is that next falls 2009 Georgia Bulldog Football season will be accompanied by unprecedented DUI enforcement and roadblocks by the Georgia State Patrol. So Dawg fans beware!
