WSB TV reported on July 28th, 2014 that a pipe in a 9th floor bathroom burst on Friday night and flooded all weekend damaging courtrooms, offices and numerous official court documents. The flooding effected the entire family law division, administrative offices and the District Attorney's office. In the meantime, employees have been moved to make-shift office spaces and some are wearing protective masks assumbly from mold exposure. There is no word on whether records have been permanently lost or if computer systems were completely destroyed. Court systems are based on record keeping usually in both computer form and on paper. It will be interesting to see if the Courts and District Attorney's office were using any off-site computer record back up services like cloud based servers. If not, this flood exposes a major weakness in record keeping and the administration of justice in Fulton County.
