DUI arrests reported in the blogosphere this summer have been quite bizarre. There’s been RUI (rafting under the influence), MUI (mowing under the influence), PUI (plowing under the influence), and now this, BUI—not boating, but bulldozing under the influence. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, on August 2nd, a man in Cobb County allegedly under the influence bulldozed concrete curbing, an erosion fence, and landscaping at a construction site around 2:00 a.m. Though most bulldozers top out at around 7 mph, the violator may not have covered a lot of ground, but managed to rack up a reported $10,000 in property damage before Cobb County police arrived on the scene. The violator received a DUI charge in Cobb County in late July, making the latest incident his 2nd DUI in 5 years, which means he would be required to install an ignition interlock device in every vehicle he operates to drive legally. I wonder if there’s an IID model for bulldozers.
