Florida Newspaper call for the removal of the CMI Intoxilzyer 8000 because of too many accuracy problems

A Florida Newspaper in Lakeland is publicly calling for the removal of the Intoxilzyer 8000 as an official breath testing device in Florida. The machine has a history of problems with accurate readings and the manufacturer has refused to release the computer source code that generates the breath result outside of its offices in Kentucky which prohibits meaningful review. What is really sad is that Georgia still uses the Intoxilyzer 5000 which is a generation behind the Intoxilyzer 8000 in accuracy and calibration testing.
